JOE FRUGAL: Coupon Deal on "Twilight: New Moon" Saturday

If you're a fan of the Twilight series, or your wife or girlfriend is, chances are you know the 2nd film, New Moon, comes out on video Saturday. Some stores are actually staying open late to sell it at 12:01am.

Aside from price, several stores will have different versions of the movie... well, same movie, different extras.

Let me tell you what I think are the best deals, and then I'll give you some other options. If you just want the movie, Amazon and Target have the single disc for $19.99 on Blu-ray and most Wal-mart's will have the single disc for $19.96.

If you want extras, at Target, you can get the 2-disc Blu-Ray for $24.99 or 3-disc DVD for $19.99. If you use this $5 off coupon and also purchase Twilight in Forks on DVD for $9.99, Target will give you a $5 gift card. That means when it all comes out in the wash, you paid $24.99/$19.99 for the Blu-Ray/DVD and got the documentary disc for free.

Just about every store has different extras. The Target Exclusive Edition includes:

•Behind-the scenes documentary in six parts:

1.Life After Twilight
2.Chris Weitz takes the helm
3.The Subtle Details
4.Time to Shine
5.Tricks of the Trade
6.Ready for the World
•Band rehearsal footage with Muse
•Music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina, and Mute Math

The Wal-mart Ultimate Fan edition includes a sneak peek of Eclipse with a behind-the-scenes look at the production and new interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Other than that, its short on extras.

Best Buy has a Blu-Ray Steelbook edition (special packaging) reportedly packaged with skins for a mobile video device or phone for $24.99 for the first 2 hours they are open.

The coupon found here is good for the Blu-Ray and DVD editions, but you have to make an additional purchase to use it. Along with Twilight in Forks, the coupon is also good for Astroboy and Bandslam.
