Robert Pattinson : I asked Kristen Stewart out a lot on the Twilight set

Robert Pattinson says he asked his Twilight co-star and now-girlfriend Kristen Stewart out "a lot" when they first met.

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson says he continuously asked out Kristen Stewart when he first met her but says it took a while for her to give in to his romantic advances and agree to date him, particularly as she was in a relationship when they first started working together.

Robert said: “I do think Kristen is amazing. I wanted to work with her the moment I met her. Our chemistry was so good. I asked her out a lot but she wasn’t having it.”

The British star also spoke about his heartthrob status, admitting he finds it bizarre that people have started finding him attractive since he landed the role of vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga movies, which are based on the best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer.

He added: “I have been lucky, of course. Like, last year, if I went out, I’d have to fight to chat someone up. This year, I look exactly the same, which is really scruffy, and yet lots of people seem to have just changed their minds and decided I’m really sexy.

"Basically, anyone who wants to be seen as attractive should just get Stephenie Meyer to say, ‘This guy is attractive.’ Then everybody believes it."
