Sissy Spacek has signed on for her first lead television role, even if it’s in a medical procedural for CBS. She’ll play the visionary (provided she cuts her bangs at some point) leader of a mobile team of volunteer doctors and nurses that travels the world helping those most in need. Twilight’s Rachelle Lefevre, Skeet Ulrich, Amy Smart, Janeane Garofalo (wait, does this take place in the late ’90s?), Michael Beach, and Jay Hernandez are Spacek’s costars, and exec producer John Wells worked on ER and The West Wing, so the project seems promising.
