Anna Kendrick up for an Oscar for "Up in the Air"

She first came to wider public attention as Bella’s newfound friend, Jessica, in the dreary town of Forks. She may have played a typical teenager in the “Twilight” series, a talkative high school girl who liked to gossip, but there’s more to Anna Kendrick than that.

Already, Kendrick has acted herself up into the big leagues with a coveted Best Actress in a Supporting Role nomination in this year’s Oscar Awards, to be held on March 7.

This accolade comes in the heels of her portrayal of Natalie Keener, an ambitious but inexperienced young woman bent on modernizing the firing process via web chat, and is sent on an eye-opening series of trips with George Clooney’s character, Ryan Bingham, to meet the people they are firing face to face.
